Derek Reisfield, Chairman of BBN Networks
Derek is the co-founder of several firms, including Marketwatch, Luminant, and i-hatch Ventures. He was also instrumental in the development of several successful firms, including Moblyng, Strands, Every Baby Company, Provell and Sportsline. Derek served as the founding President of the New Media Division of CBS, and he was the Vice President, Business Development of the CBS Corporation and its predecessor, The Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Reisfield was the Co-Founder of the Media and Telecom practice of Mitchell Madison and a leader of McKinsey & Company’s Media practice. He is also a director of the San Francisco Zoological Society. Derek graduated from Wesleyan University and he received his A.M. from the Annenberg School of Communications at USC.
Scott Roulet, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, BBN Networks
Scott oversees BBN’s publisher partnerships and advertising sales. Over the past three decades, Scott has been one of the pioneers guiding media companies toward new business models in the digital space. Prior to BBN, he held executive positions at ProQuest Company, Oklahoma Publishing Company and Wavo Corporation. He was instrumental in launching the first personalized news service on the web and served as Virgin Entertainment’s executive producer the premiere worldwide music webcast. He has built alliances in Asia, Australia and Europe with leading publishing companies including John Fairfax, News International, Nikkei, Pearson, Reed Elsevier and 24/7 Real Media. Scott is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
Selcuk Ozturk, Senior Vice President of Technology
Selcuk oversees the development of an information systems infrastructure at BBN which can overcome the challenges of rapidly changing business and technology environment. Prior to joining BBN, Selcuk was CTO of Morningside Partners LLC where he had the responsibility of developing robust global real-time data acquisition and delivery systems. He also worked as a computer scientist at the National Institutes of Health on developing natural language processing systems that can locate personally identifying information in patient records. Selcuk holds an M.A. in Economics from University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
Rachael Monroe, Vice President, Client Services
Rachael is responsible for developing relationships with the advertising community. She comes to BBN as a seasoned sales and marketing professional with extensive experience in B2B publishing. In her prior role as Publisher, she successfully led a multi-media B2B publication through one of the most difficult economic times by developing innovative marketing programs for tax, accounting and small business communities. Rachael has a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and serves her community through leadership positions in United Way, Kiwanis International, and Shawnee Community Foundation.
Neil Maslansky, CFO & Vice President – Strategy & Development
Neil manages financial, strategy and development initiatives at BBN. Just prior to joining BBN, Neil was SVP for Strategy & Development for CQ Roll Call. Prior to Roll Call’s acquisition of Congressional Quarterly, Inc., Neil spent over seven years with CQ, most recently as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer after previously overseeing corporate growth as Senior Director of Strategy, Business and Product Development. He has also held management positions with LexisNexis, Congressional Information Service, ComScore Networks and PC Data. Neil holds a B.A. in political science and communication from the University of Delaware, an M.A. in political science from American University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Johns Hopkins University.
Matthew Evans, Director of Operations
Matt has been affiliated with BBN since 2008. In his current position, he develops and manages initiative projects and ad serving technologies on behalf of online advertisers and publishers. In 2008, Matt joined the staff of BBN and was appointed Director of Operations. Prior to his work at BBN, Matt worked as a Project Manager for a company in Maryland, where he managed inventory systems, webcasts, and ad servers. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University, with a specialization in multimedia and technology.
